Final Major Project - 'Mariah Mundi' Laboratory and Restaurant set.
This project is based on the children's book 'Mariah Mundi and the Midas Box'. Set in a victorian hotel lies many secrets. I chose to design a laboratory set, which is located deep within the hotel as well as designing a grand restaurant set which is located many floors above the laboratory. The laboratory is eerie and holds many secrets, whilst the restaurant is grand and beautiful. My aim was to create two sets that have very contrasting atmospheres.
Dating Show - 'Love Shack'
The brief for this project was to create a concept and design for a dating show to fit within specific studio space regulations. I used henna tattoo designs as inspiration for parts of the set. I then created a stage area and a speed dating section called 'the love shack'. The dating area has a trap door which allows the contestant to 'get rid' of their date if they do not like them.
Culture Show - Fashion
This set is for a culture show about fashion. There is a studio set, designed to fit within a specific studio, and there is also a location set which is able to travel round to various locations for filming. The design includes inspiration from Musée d'Orsay, Baroque frames and grunge fashion photography. Strategically placed lighting from UV light strips and oversized chandeliers shows off the set to its full potential.
Student Film - "Change?"
"Change?" is a student short film which aims to create awareness about homelessness in Newport.
